Estelle Kim Wins Vanguard Scholarship

Estelle Kim, a CS major, has been awarded a Vanguard Women in Information Technology Scholarship Award for 2008 -- one of nine recipients nationally.  Vanguard is a member of the department's industrial affiliates organization.

The Vanguard Women in Information Technology Program provides merit-based scholarships  to female students entering their senior year of college and pursuing studies in computer science, computer engineering, web design, or related information technology disciplines. Students can earn up to $8,000.

For the 2008-2009 school year Vanguard has presented merit-based scholarships totaling nearly $111,000. Since 2004 (inception of the Vanguard Scholarship Program), Vanguard has awarded a total of nearly $400,000 in merit-based scholarships to deserving college seniors -- helping them to ease the financial burden of earning their degrees and realizing their dreams.
